El Nilein bank was established in 1965 through the merger of bank of Sudan and Credit Lyonnais Bank and then the bank obtained a permit in 1976, and the branch was officially opened and started business activity in 1977 in Abu Dhabi – United Arab Emirates

September 2010 all traditional banking operations were converted to Islamic banking based on the principles of Islamic banking on the inclusion of Islamic sharia principles and the regulations and laws of the traditional banking sector.

Forty years of Islamic banking experience in the United Arab Emirates banking sector is a pride in strengthening relations between Sudan and the United Arab Emirates as the only Sudanese bank in the country.
